“He is like a tree, planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither.” --Psalms 1:3

We had a rough night last night.  Jacob was up six or seven times with vomiting and diarrhea.  His little bum is sore so changing his diaper has become a very unpleasant thing for him.  He was so restless all night, calling out to me and just not able to get comfortable.  They gave him some special medication for nausea but it didn’t seem to help that much.

Of course all this was discussed at rounds this morning.  Dr. Davies thinks this is the rotavirus and told me to settle in for a bit of a stay.  The blood cultures continue to be negative.  So today the plan was to give his gut a little break in the hopes of curbing the vomiting and diarrhea - they stopped his NJ feeds and changed almost all his oral meds over to IV.  During the day he’s only had two episodes of each, so a great improvement over the night.  We were both able to get a good nap in today, and I’m hoping for a much better night for Jacob tonight.

Thank you for keeping Jacob in yo ur prayers.
