I’m squinting to see more evidence of a turning point. He had violent V this morning and D throughout the day, but no V tonight and I think the D is improving overall. I don’t know, I’m prone to seeing the glass half full, but I truly think there’s a difference from when I got here a over a week ago.
JT and I were looking at pictures of Jeep Wranglers online today and daydreaming about off-roading together someday in the future when I remembered that you can rent golf carts at the Sculpture Park during the summer. So I called and sure enough, they were renting today and the lady said the place was empty. So we headed over.
It was fantastic. I dressed him up in his mask, sun hat, and taped-on gloves. I gave the cart an anti-bacterial chemical bath. JT started on my lap steering and then moved over into the passenger seat while we checked out the sculptures, the creeks, the hiking paths. At one point we were bouncing through the woods and he said excitedly, “Daddy, we’re off-roading!” It was sweet, really fun. We were out for about an hour and he was very tired at the end but it was such a cool thing to do together for recreation given his relative isolation.
We’re both tired tonight so we’re hoping for a little extra sleep tonight. Please continue to pray for protection and complete healing for our boy. Thank you!
