Well, JT threw up twice today and I’m to blame. If, God forbid, you ever find yourself caring for a child in JT’s condition, don’t forget to administer both anti-nausea meds on the same morning. And don’t follow that mistake by giving him a whole bunch of milk and water to drink. And definitely don’t pursue wrestling as the next activity as soon as he sets down both cups. I have a sticker I’ve been saving to put on my desk at school next year: it’s a big band-aid that says “Stupid Hurts.” I should have been wearing it on my forehead today.
Anyway, I’m really hoping it was a fluke. This is the longest run with no V we’ve had in as long as I can remember. The D is still pretty bad.
We had an interesting visit to the park tonight. We threw bread to the ducks and geese and we sneaked right up next to a deer with the beginnings of next year’s antlers. He was eating some flowers and when he saw us he immediately sneezed violently. We both said “God bless you!” immediately and the deer ran away. You can guess who got a bang out all that. We also saw a raccoon, which always makes me wary during daylight hours, but we were in the van and could safely watch it wander around a bit, a little dazedly it seemed to me. He stood up on his hind legs, shuffled over to a Frisbee golf basket, hopped into the woods. I chose to let JT enjoy these antics without explaining that our "raccoon friend" was more likely a "rabid menace."
So – please pray for good news from the hospital. We expect biopsy results either tomorrow or Wednesday during his long infusion appointment. His spirits continue to be up, which I take as a sign of better and better days to come. Thank you.
