“He is like a tree, planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither.” --Psalms 1:3

JT called me from the hospital to tell me that he weighed 16 kg!  Awesome – he’s finally trending in the right direction.  And his hemoglobin was up to 9.5!  This is still low, but it’s higher for him than it has been in some time.  All very encouraging.

Jodi had a time of it trying to coordinate with the Home Health company that will handle JT’s care in Grove City.  Actually, we’ll be dealing with three companies.  They do things differently and have different equipment, etc. and this adds to the general anxiety about leaving Cincinnati.  There’s a medicine delivery scheduled for tomorrow evening in GC and a nurse will be coming to the house too.  Please pray that this is a smooth transition and that he continues to experience the sort of top-notch care we’ve become accustomed to down here.

My good friend Greg came down from Columbus today to help me pack the U-haul.  She’s loaded and ready, sitting outside in the driveway.  I’ll be towing a car too – should be interesting.  Jodi will have both boys in the minivan.  It will be a long drive for everyone so we ask for safe traveling mercies.

During Candlepower tonight we talked a little with JT about our time here, about everything that has happened to him.  We spoke of his time in Room 21 and his long recovery here at the apartment.  I ended by saying that he was ready to go home now.

He looked at me for a moment and then said quietly, “I got through it.”  Amen, and thank you Jesus for your strength.

I won’t be able to post tomorrow through Sunday but we should have Internet access in GC on Monday and then I’ll be back to posting daily blog entries.  There’s still a long road in front of JT and he’ll continue to need your earnest prayers:  the journey has by no means ended and I ask you to stay the course with us.  Thank you.

Raise money for the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias simply by clicking your mouseGoodSearch.com (powered by yahoo.com) is donating money to charities for use of their search engine.  To use it, install the GoodSearch toolbar to the top of your browser screen and then type in the charity (National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias) and then search as you would on Google.com or Yahoo.com.  The NFED gets a monetary donation for every search!  The more folks that know about this, the greater the donation to NFED, and hence the more money there is to fund research on Jacob's condition and others like his.  Thank you!
