Lots of really great news to report this evening…
First, a group of my fellow teacher-friends have created a band named “Treebeard Brown” and they played a mini-concert for all of the staff to welcome me/us back. They were fantastic. And guess who sneaked in the back to hear “all the instruments?” Yep – Treebeard himself. Jodi brought the boys for a few moments and I was so proud of all of them. JT climbed up on my lap and after every song he clapped wildly and then he’d whisper to me, “Will there be more songs?” Justy hung out on Jodi’s lap and quietly took it all in. These were sweet, sweet moments. Thank you guys – he’ll be talking about it for weeks.
Our doctor from Cincinnati emailed about the biopsies – they show cells dying and strange regeneration but no signs consistent with infection (thank God!) or a fixed drug eruption either. Right now they’re guessing that this is part of his skin condition (Incontinentia Pigmenti) which is what his biopsies have always shown. So it looks at present like it’s not a huge deal which is a great answer to prayer. Thank you.
And finally, we have a visitor this evening: Aunt Rebecca from California! She brought birthday gifts and toys and good coffee as well as her cheerful spirit. She and I took the boys out for a big bike ride – we rode down to Rainbow Bridge, peeked into the chapel, and rode the whole bike loop, stopping at the soccer fields to shoot a few goals. We saw deer – it was a super ride. When we got back we had a dance party – good times.
Jodi bumped up the feeds to 50ml/hr and he tolerated them like a champ all day long. Sweet. The only hiccup in the day was that home health called to say they’ll be sending a nurse out tomorrow morning for more blood draws…evidently his electrolyte/protein numbers were a little off so please pray for better lab results tomorrow. Thanks – it was a great day so thanksgiving is in order tonight. |
