Jodi updating tonight...we had a wonderful day. In the morning we took two buckets full of rocks to the bike trail and the boys each tossed about 100 rocks each into the creek. I truly think they could do this all day long if I would let them. After we returned home I got out a special sprinkler that Aunt Rebecca bought the boys - they had a BLAST! It was so amazing watching Jacob run through the water with the biggest smile on his face and not a care in the world. We have come some far and for that I am so thankful. The boys couldn't quit talking about the sprinkler and I had to get it out again after they woke from their nap. I'm so glad Jacob and Justy have each other. They have so much fun together. I love hearing them belly laugh with each other throughout the day. Don't get me wrong, there are some screams and cries interspersed as well. But overall they delight in one another.
Jacob brushed his teeth for the first time since transplant last night (he wasn't allowed to brush his teeth because of the germs). At first he was a little hesitant, but then got right into it. We've also embarked on some non-aggessive potty training. So far, pretty good, but seems like a lot of work????
Jacob's rash continues to be awful. Each time the red areas brown down it seems that several more new red areas appear. He's also starting to itch a bit more. His incisions from the new port and the old central line look good, but have not healed quite all the way yet. Today he was a mad man about wanting to eat -three bowls of cereal in the morning, three bowls of noodles and butter and 4 pieces of bread and butter for lunch and then mashed potatoes and butternut squash for dinner. Now, he didn't really swallow any of it, but definitely chewed it a bit. Great progress as far as I'm concerned. Next Monday the feeding consultant will evaluate Jacob - we can't wait to get some professional guidance in this area.
Thanks so much for continuing on this journey with us.
