Day +52

Still no yellow nose friend - yeah!  Jacob’s weight is holding and his blood counts showed he was well hydrated.  Today he drank 2 cartons of the carnation instant drink (up a half carton from yesterday) along with his regular intake of vitamin D milk.   I’m hoping that each day it continues to increase and he’ll get the calories he needs to remain free!

We had a long day at the hospital today as Jacob had several infusions and a central line dressing and cap change.   His blood counts remain very good for where he’s at in the BMT process. Jacob was so ready to head home at the end of the day.  He wouldn’t take a nap at the hospital and kept saying he just wanted to sleep in his bed at the apartment.  He went straight to bed when we got home and got well rested for the arrival of his special visitor…Aunt Rebecca.

It was so cute to see Jacob’s excitement when Rebecca peeked her head around the stairs.  He ran to her and threw his arms around her neck.  He has definitely missed her.  Not long after Aunt Rebecca arrived we all took off exploring at Mount Airy’s Park.  The deer were out in droves and we also spotted a raccoon friend in the garbage can.  We followed him around for a while from one garbage can to the next and Jacob got a huge kick out of it.  He was in his glory having Aunt Rebecca with us again.

Daddy arrived shortly after we returned from exploring and Jacob couldn’t wait to tell him all about still not having his yellow nose friend.  Jacob requested daddy’s “I’m free” dance, so we turned out the lights and all giggled as daddy jumped around with the flashlight acting silly.  Jacob took his oral meds really well.  I think it helped a lot having an enthusiastic audience.

Thanks to Aunt Rebecca, Brian and I were able to go out for a nice dinner and enjoy some time together.  It was good for both of our souls.  I think Jacob enjoyed having Aunt Rebecca put him to bed too.  It was a great night!

Thank you all again for your love and support and prayers.
